- Starlink Gen 2 cable extensionIn 2nd Gen Dishy·March 24, 2022My gen 2 is on the way BUT I can no longer extend the cable as you could with gen 1 since there is no power brick that allowed you to use ethernet cable from the brick in an out location to the modem in the house. Can I put the gen 2 modem in an out building with power, use the ethernet adapter and run exterior cat 6 cable to another modem in the house? Can't come up with any other option. HELP!128024911

- Advice on how to extend my signal to close by studio and outbuildingIn Troubleshooting·March 8, 2022Please help! I have a new Starlink system (2/22), and need to extend the signal (wireless) to two locations each within 30-50 ft. from my house and router. I do have an old Netgear system that was plugged directly into my old Century Link router, maybe use that, and get the ethernet accessory?1271968
- Ethernet adapter.......grrrIn 2nd Gen Dishy·May 14, 2022Got my ethernet adapter a week or so ago. It works absolutely marvelous for a wifi signal..........no probs there at all. It will not power up the ethernet no matter what I do. I've tried different cat cables, I've tried to power up in different orders. (placing adapter in before powering up, and after powering up)..........I've tried stowing, unstowing........you name it. An employee of mine from work borrowed me their new adapter(they just got it and haven't tried it)...............same issue. It just will not power up the ethernet end of the adapter.................any ideas, folks??? p.s- I tried the ethernet for my Eero and tried three different laptops and an android box..............no power to any.31811755

- How to reactivate serviceIn General Discussions·June 30, 2022I can not get a service ticket. Is there any way to reactivate the service? My equipment was sent to the wrong address so I canceled the service until I sorted the problem out1203167
- Starlink and FirewallsIn General Discussions·June 13, 2022I recently went from Verizon 4G to Starlink. I work from home and use a Fortinet Firewall. Verizon worked fine but it had slow speeds all around. If I use ethernet directly into my computer, I get download of 70-100 mbs and upload of 4-7 mbs. Not great, but it works. If I run the ethernet into my Fortinet firewall, I get the same download but the upload gets choked to .01-.03 mbs. Not acceptable. What is the reason for this? My IT guy says it's a Starlink issue since Verizon worked fine through the firewall. I can't find anyway to get Starlink support, so I've turned to this forum. Thanks3148070
- How to remove and reinstall cable at gen2 dishIn 2nd Gen Dishy·April 21, 202231415780
- Starlink Gen 2 cable extensionIn 2nd Gen DishyApril 18, 2022Along this same note: Has anyone thought of/tried cutting the supplied "proprietary ended" cable and connecting it back together with couplers and cat6 cable?? Just got my Gen2 in and setup this weekend. Where I want to put the dish and where I need the router to be, I already have cat6 wire. I was wondering if I could cut the cable that came with it and couple it back together instead of trying to feed it through a wall, a ceiling, an attic and another wall. I have cat6 already run from the attic space to where the router needs to be and it would be SOOO much easier if I could do that. Has anyone tried this yet with the Gen2? Thanks for any input!!114
- Just starting . . .In 2nd Gen Dishy·May 2, 2022Hi all, I am on an isolated farm in Eastern NSW Australia. Been using NBN here which is abysmal. I found this site while looking for the standard cable length from the Gen 2 dish. For me it would be more of a nuisance if it's too long. What I am doing is bypassing starlink router into one of my Asus RT AX88s. This will connect to a wifi bridge sending signal to our other house on the farm. My other AX will connect to the bridge there. Should arrive next week from LA, looking forward to playing with it all and will try to message how it worked.114188
