Partial success.... online but no mesh network.
Attached a new cat8, 100 ft. wire from the junction box of the satellite/ router lines in an outside shed location. My dish is on a dock in a frozen lake. Get best reception there. After both connected, verified with iphone starlink app, and with iphone game app that it was working. Takes awhile for the router light to stop blinking white and go solid white, which signals an active line.
Had to order on amazon no one local had higher than a cat 5 or 6. Thanks to the poster to this forum who did the diagram of his lake location satellite. We can help each other....he used 100ft of cat 8 which appears to exceed the recommendation distance by Starlink which you might need to know at some point.
Side note - Not all cat 8 is good so you have to be careful and read the reviews. Amazon prices were competitive.
Next was getting the new cable up the the house with the 100ft. Ran the line, tied to tree branches as the snow drifts made this a challenge. Just hope some large mammal does not run into it.
ERRO Mesh Network interface attempt.... the router initially was sitting by a glass door outside. Ran a cat 6 between the router and the error box....not working. Next directly connected the mesh box bypassing the starlink router as mentioned in the forums, not working.... Might try another day with a Cat 8....
Put the starlink router into a plastic bag and boxed in with two by fours and set on a furniture ledge propped against the house and outside a window. This will give it some weather protection. Getting it off the deck improved the service distance, but it does not cover the area of the erro mesh network. It forced us to centralize into rooms closest to the router. It is a temporary work around but for daily office work it is not good over an extend time, who wants to be a the kitchen table all day long?
I noted the starlink is working on a mesh network product. If anyone finds an erro solution let me know.
No real idea what started this chaos. I will get a cat 8 line and try to connect, that will say if it was a line failure issue or if it is a network conflict between starlink and erro. I suspect a conflict. It did give me an opportunity work outside in sub temperatures, often without gloves.....
Hope this helps someone else.
