Hi Chris, That is surprising.. My guess is that it’s an error in the obstruction viewer as you should be fully obstructed inside the home and much better outside (unless completely treed in). You could always test your internet functionality with it sitting in your house but it’s highly unlikely you will get much for service. Normally 95% unobstructed is a pretty good percentage yes.

Hi Hume, Yes that should work just fine. When in bypass mode you can hardwire as many devices/routers as you’d like off an Ethernet switch (depending on how many ports it has). You can setup each router with the same SSID and Password if you’d like that way it should switch seamlessly (on wireless devices) from router to router depending on your location in the home. If you are port forwarding on one of the new routers it should work in the same way your old setup was as the connected hardline off of your switch is providing internet but should not interfere if the router is programmed correctly for port forwarding. Hi John, A split network takes your two router signals (2.4ghz and 5ghz) and separates them. The reason you would do this is to give yourself the option of either signal when selecting your network for something like a nest camera. Most wireless cameras run strictly off of 2.4ghz because it travels further through obstructions (walls, ceilings, etc). The 5ghz is used for shorter range (closer to your router) but it does tend to improve performance when online gaming or video calling is involved. The 2.4ghz network is sufficient in most cases especially when you are running off a more rural system like Starlink and not something like fibre optic internet that runs at very high speeds. To summarize: 5ghz (shorter range higher bursts of download and upload speed) 2.4ghz (longer range, more stable but slower overall download and upload speeds) Let me know how if you have any other questions, hope this helps.

Hi Steven, Yes you can hardwire to your computer through an Ethernet cable and you will still have your Wi-Fi. If you are talking about replacing the Starlink router with a new one that will work in most cases as well. If you put in a different router that has more Ethernet ports on the back of it then you will be able to hardwire multiple devices if need be. If you have the Ethernet adapter for your Starlink router then it’s just a matter of running an Ethernet cable from the one open port on the adapter to whatever device you want to hardwire and your Wi-Fi connection will remain the same as before.

Hi Steven, That is pretty minor as far as obstructions go. If you are working from home and doing a lot video conferencing then it may cause a small amount of trouble. But for general video streaming (Netflix, YouTube, etc) and web surfing I wouldn’t worry about it. With that small of an obstruction percentage even if the system did drop out it would be for a very very short time, almost unnoticeable in most cases.

Hi Don, Usually your IP address will only show up in a different location if you have a VPN (virtual private network) setup. There are cases where they can show up in a different state depending on what your internet provider assigns to the router. I would submit a ticket and contact a Starlink rep regarding this first. Would more than likely be something on Starlinks end and not an issue with ESPN. Hope this helps!

Hi Christine, I would start with a reboot. If that doesn’t work then make sure your app is up to date and try stowing and then unstowing the dish. That can get help get it reoriented. Hope this helps!

Not a problem, I don’t think I read it correctly. Technically you have to have a dual WAN router if you want to run two ISP (internet service providers) on one router. You should be able to plug your Starlink connection into the WAN port on your ASUS router and it will automatically find the ip address if your router is already set to dynamic (which it will be unless you changed the settings for a static ip). You would have to physically unplug the connection and plug in your DSL connection if the Starlink service went down for any reason (if your router isn’t dual wan - 2 wan ports on the back). All the Wi-Fi (username and password) settings will stay the same on your router unless you have to do a factory reset. I hope this helps.

Hi Jim, It seems to be dependant on the non-Starlink router connected through the Ethernet adapter. And it can change with updates from Starlink (removing features like you mentioned). I have heard that you can set your secondary router to a “static route” to bring back the app features through your Eero. You may have to look up the specifics of setting a static IP for your Eero to test this. But it may be worth a shot to see if that makes a difference.

Hi Rick, If I understand correctly what you are asking…you want to have your ASUS router running as a secondary router off of your main Starlink router? If so you will have to disable the DHCP on your main router as this allows the Starlink router to manage your network. Kind of like a Wi-Fi extender but it would be hardwired.

Hi George, You will still see a Wi-Fi connection from your router if it is plugged in, that doesn’t mean you will have internet (especially if you are seeing the red light). You may went to check your connections at the router and the power brick (make sure they are clean and that they click into place well). If you have already tried that the next step may be to do a factory reset on your router (using the reset pin hole on the bottom) after a few minutes this will get you to setup your network name and password again, which you will have to input into all of your Wi-Fi devices again after setup. Seeing as this post was 2 days ago you may already be back up and running, but if not I hope this helps.

Hi William, If you go into your Starlink app with your Dish powered on and connected to its wifi you will go into settings and scroll down the page till you see an option to “stow” the dish. Select stow and it will collapse back to the state that you took out of the box.

Hi Micker4, Have you tried to restart your phone yet? I’ve had a similar scenario and restarting the phone can reset the connection. Also try forgetting the network and reconnecting with your password, that can also do the trick.
