I am setting up my Starlink at my Airbnb. Can the router be left out on a shelve, or should it be looked in a closet? I don't want the guest to be able to hack the system, if that's even possible.
Also can I set up a guest wifi password? That way I won't have to give them my password.
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for your response. I have a new system, haven't set it up yet. I will look into a after market router.
Hello Terry, welcome to the community! Great questions, there Is no Guest network with the Starlink system, so you would have to buy an alternative router if that is what you need. Personally I think that setting a quest network up is needed in a situation like yours as you have alot more control and security over your network. If you already have a WIFI network set-up in the AirBnb then you can either remove the Starlink router if it’s a 1st gen system And plug your existing system in direct or if it’s a 2nd Gen system then place the router into bridge mode and connect in your system. Either way will work, and should be quite easy to set-up depending on the aftermarket router your using. Most new routers work fine with the Starlink system, with the exception of one so far which is Eero routers which we’ve had a couple of community members that have been having issues. Hope this helps!
