Currently have an ATT gateway. The gateway has a router connected via cat 5 cable in another room. That router provides most of the wifi coverage for the house. This router is set up so it passes thru the ATT gateway (bridge mode?).
The ATT gateway still has wifi enabled but only works at the far end of the house. This arrangement has worked fine for a couple of years.
The ATT gateway is also hardwired to the computer in in the same room.
Have the Starlink router. Got the Starlink splitter. Also bought a five port ethernet switch. Want to replicate what we have above but with Starlink the bypass mode is either for everything or nothing.
The only way I can see to make this work is:
Connect the switch to the ehternet cable for the router in the other roo.
Buy a second router for the room with the computer and the Starlink modem.
Put the Starlink router in bypass mode.
We need 2 routers, one at each end of the house for complete wifi coverage since Starlink can't be set in bypass mode and still keep wifi.
Will this work? I.e. have 2 routers hard wired to the Starlink modem which is in bypass mode.
Hope you understand what I'm trying to do and open to suggestions.
