Now that we can take our StarLink mobile, I have a few questions
1- Will there be a slave antenna to take with me, or will I have to take my antenna off of my roof and leave my home in a dead zone?
2- This will also require taking the modem from inside my house?
3- I have watched YouTube videos where the antenna was placed on the ground which doesn’t seem to practical.
4- What is your experience using the StarLink mobile?
Thanks for these ideas Omaar Bhai
Thanks for the information.
This makes Starlink less attractive for me. Will there ever be a smaller antenna that you could leave installed on a motorhome? Will StarLink ever be available while driving down the road?
If that were possible, we could leave the dishy on the coach then just hook up the home wire and move the modem. But that still leaves home devices dead.
I will look forward to watching your new video.
Hello Cliff, unfortunately you will have to bring your existing equipment with you. This is the challenging part for some as the system isn't installed to be pulled on and off easily. The expensive answer is to get a 2nd system and turn it on and off as needed for holiday season, but this is costly meaning your paying 2 bills and dealing with activating so it is not an option for all. If you have a 2nd gen system then purchasing a 2nd (150ft) cable will help as you can leave the existing cable in place and just take the Dishy and Router. With a 1st Gen system the cable is attached to Dishy, so you will have to redo the cable install or possibly cut the cable if you have the nerve too and place in a joiner. These are not the greatest answers but there the only ones we have right now. Hope this helps. By the way we're making a video on this exact topic that should be out in a few weeks.
