Dear community,
I own a small business and want to order Starlink. However, Starlink say in their terms and conditions, that non-business-type of Starlink is prohibited to use it for businesses.
On the other hand, the business-type of Starlink is about 500 USD per month and way too expensive for small businesses.
I can't ask anybody at Starlink, because they don't provide any customer hotline or email for such pre-sales questions.
Could anybody share experiences regarding this topic? I did some research and found out, that obviously non-business Starlink was also used by companies.
Best regards

Hello Alexander, welcome to the community. This is a great question and one that I'm not sure can be completely answered until it is better clarified in SL policies. The word "business" can be very broad, a home business with one person working online will be very different from a business that has 30 employees coming in everyday. The big difference is data usage, I definitely don't see small rural stores and homebased businesses that use SL internet for things like accepting payments and inventory tracking paying $500 a month for the Premium Starlink when the residential package is more then capable and really all they need. On the flipside of this is if you are running a larger scale operation having the ability to have a more stable and stronger connection with and actual support network that gets back to you...does certainly have a high value and is well worth the cost. These days most people are finding ways to work from home, and especially if your further out from town where Starlinks base is the strongest, I would guess that every 2nd Starlink we've installed has had some sort of home business being used on it, it might have even been the reason Starlink was so desperately needed to begin with...
So I guess you need to access your needs and situation. I'm going to submit a ticket to Starlink and see if they can give a little more clarity on this topic and update as I find out more. Hope this helps.
