Hi all,
I’m hoping someone here can help or has experienced this before.
I’ve been trying to reset my Starlink router to remove a previously configured Wi-Fi name and start fresh. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Performed a factory reset on the router.
Disconnected the Starlink dish cable during the reset.
After reset, the router shows the default “STARLINK” SSID, as expected.
BUT—once I plug the Starlink dish cable back into the router, it automatically reverts to my old Wi-Fi name and previous configuration.
I’ve also tried using the Bypass mode in my profile, but the same thing happens—old SSID keeps coming back.
It seems like the old configuration profile is stored in Starlink’s backend, and despite my local resets, it keeps syncing the old settings back whenever the dish reconnects.
I’ve already raised a support ticket with Starlink requesting a backend reset or profile removal, but I’d like to know:
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any advice on how to fully clear the old configuration?
Any tricks to get support to respond faster or escalate this kind of issue?
For now, I’m stuck in a loop where local resets work temporarily, but once I reconnect the dish, it all comes back.
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
Cheers,
David
